Getting around NY

Subway


The subway’s usually the fastest way to get around. It runs 24/7 and can take you pretty much anywhere.

How to pay:

$3 per ride. You can tap with your phone or purchase tickets at the station. If you’re planning to stay for a few days it may be worth getting an unlimited weekly ticket for ~$35.

Citibike


Great for short trips and a nice way to see the city above ground. They have regular bikes and e-bikes.

How to pay:

You can either download the citibike app or pay through the Lyft rideshare app (details about that below).

Ferries


It’s a great way to travel, especially on a nice day. Plus, the views of the skyline are amazing and it’s a great way to go between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
